For proper fullness, order valance widths that are approximately one and a half times to double the width of the window area you would like to cover.
For even wider windows, choose extra valance(s).

"I had purchased the valances but later returned them due to the same reason the previous poster had mentioned. The valances are very attractive and would look great with almost any earth-toned decor. I was very disappointed, however, that the layering on the scalloped valance was so obvious when the light shows through. and looked very unappealing to me during the daytime. I am disappointed that the under striped fabic layer only runs the bottom 4 inches of the underlayer. As the top vine and bud pattern fabric is a lighter material when the light shines through the valance the top half of the valance is lighter than the bottom half (where the striped fabric and the white lining material meet)."
