The Tree of Life was painted as a gift drawing by Shaker Sister Hannah Cohoon in 1854. Inspired by a spiritual vision, and giving visual testimony to her commitment to Shaker life, she shows us in dramatic form a traditional symbol of living faith. The original painting from which this print was made is in the collection of the Hancock Shaker Village in nearby Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Framed in a distressed light walnut finish, with glass.
