  • Using a metal tape measure or a wooden yardstick, measure the width of the window area you would like to cover, typically from bracket to bracket
  • For proper fullness, order curtains that are approximately one and a half times to double the width of the window area you would like to cover.
  • For even wider windows, choose an extra pair of regular width curtains/panels.

Q: Need an insulated rod pocket curtain that is 43 inches from top to bottom. The only measurement I'm getting is the width. This is for a smaller bedroom window. I need a blackout/insulated curtain. The other 3 windows are longer and I have those.

"Photo of rod pocket is incorrect. Looks like pinch pleats. Same is true in catalog, page 56. The pinch pleat pix are rod pockets. Beware!"

"I am a long time customer of Country Curtains. I don't believe I have purchased from anywhere else for 25 years. So sad to see the demise of this wonderful weaver's cloth curtain. The reason I say that is because the new pair I ordered are NOT the same fabric as a year ago. The customer rep who answered my complaint said the fabric had not changed so she either didn't know or thinks I can't see the difference. Lighter weight and thinner; hardly could be called "insulating." Be warned. "

"So disappointed in the color. Online it looks like bright blue but upon receiving it's navy. I'll be returning."
"The material on these curtains is so thin you can't iron the wrinkles out of them. It is very poor quality material and poor quality sewing. All seams are puckered, including the hems and rod pockets, and especially the side seams. I was appalled by the low quality, I had ordered these curtains 10 years ago and they were beautiful quality then. I will never order a curtain from this company unless I can actually see them in the store itself."

"I bought these curtains because the instructions said machine washable. Well, I washed them according to directions and the backing peeled off the back. Very disappointing."
