Q: The widest size is 40". The bordered shade has a 2" border. Does this make the bordered shade 42" in width? Or is the shade 38" and the border 2" for 40" width total? Thank you.

Q: Does this have what would be considered "blackout" lining? Our room faces due east and I really need something to block the sun.

Q: I purchased a version of these 5 years ago and love it. I recently had to remove the shade from the rod and now I can't figure out how to put it back. I know there is a trick to make it click in place. Thanks

"I like these shades. My only complaint is that I think the included spring-loaded brackets which hold the shade in place at the top of window are nearly inadequate to the task. The lip of the bracket which the shade snaps onto is barely an eighth of an inch wide. This was disappointing; I have to hold the shade at the top when adjusting to assure it won't pop off the window! Fortunately, the room is rarely used by guests, so it's not as big an issue as it could have been."

"I got these shades in the Sand color because I thought they were really nice looking; contemporary, stylish and clean. But I was amazed at how much of a difference they made in keeping our family room warmer. They did such a great job cutting the draft and cold from our windows that we never had them "up" this whole winter! During the day, when we rolled them up to let in light, we could immediately feel the cold - and back down they went! Great product. Our breakfast area is next!"

"I love, Love, LOVE these shades!!! They are great to help you sleep in on a sunny morning but even better during a cold winter night to keep the drafts out. I am really pleased with these, they are worth the money!! I can't believe I ever slept without them!"

"We ordered the unbordered, and I like them very much. They really darken our bedroom, which gets pretty light otherwise in the morning. I have no issues sleeping with these in place! The one thing I would mention is that you can barely see the brackets with an inside mount, but I think you would really see them with an outside mount."
