  • Using a metal tape measure or a wooden yardstick, measure the width of the window area you would like to cover, typically from bracket to bracket.
  • For proper fullness, order valance widths that are approximately one and a half times to double the width of the window area you would like to cover.
  • For even wider windows, choose extra valance(s).

Q: Has anyone tried these curtains without a flat curtain rod? I'm thinking of using them on my decorative black rods with the scroll finial at the end. Do they still hang nicely using a different type of rod? Just wondering if anyone has tried that.

"This is a high quality valance that looks like an expensive custom treatment. Tou can tie up as high or low as you want. Heavy fabric and lining gives this valance a substantial feel. I am very happy with this valance."

"These are super cute and look just like the picture -- I found it a BIT hard to make the ties look as perfect as the catalogue photo, but after a few tries they turned out nicely. Very thick, high quality material. Very happy with these!!"
"I absolutely LOVE this valance and I have received so many compliments on it. I got it in the taupe color with the white ribbon. I knotted, rather than bowed the ribbons and it is beautiful. Great quality and easy to install."

"I absolutely love this valance! Really great quality and is exactly what I was looking for. A custom look without the expensive price tag. I will be purchasing the parisian note panels for my dining room next!!"

"Mine don't pop like these do. In the magazine that I was looking at they looked black, not the chocolate that they are, and they really popped. But in on my windows they seem flat. Depending on the light it is hard to see the writing at all. Maybe your room won't be as bright as mine or you will stand closer but if the picture looks like these are black then know that all the writing will be lighter as they are not that dark. I think the color shown on the web is close to accurate in low light."
